While store-bought dividers can be expensive, I found a simple, cost-effective way to create one using materials you likely already have at home. Let me guide you step-by-step through how I turned a plain cardboard box into a charming, functional room divider. Trust me, it’s easier than you think!
Materials You’ll Need:
- A large cardboard box (preferably thick and sturdy, such as one from an appliance)
- Green paint
- White paint
- Paintbrushes or foam rollers
- Flower wall stickers or stencils
- A mixing palette (a simple plate or disposable tray works)
- A utility knife (optional, for cutting or reshaping the box)
- Drop cloth or newspaper (to protect your workspace)
Step 1: Preparing the Cardboard Box
First, I selected a sturdy cardboard box. I recommend one with large, flat panels for an even painting surface. Start by wiping down the box to remove any dust or debris. If your box has flaps or uneven edges, you can trim them with a utility knife to create clean, straight lines.
